Getting started
Dua Lock needs Screen Time permission to pause apps on your behalf. On first launch you’ll see an iOS prompt asking to allow access — tap Continue, then choose which apps pull you away. Nothing is blocked until you pick them yourself.
Blocking isn’t working
Almost always one of these:
- Screen Time permission was declined. Open iOS Settings › Screen Time and make sure it’s turned on, then reopen Dua Lock.
- No apps are selected yet. Open Dua Lock and choose at least one app or category to pause.
- You’re still inside an unlock window. After you make a dua, your chosen apps stay open until the window ends. That’s working as intended.
The pause screen’s button doesn’t open Dua Lock
This is an iOS limitation, not a bug. Apple does not allow the pause screen to launch another app. To make your dua, tap the notification Dua Lock sends when your apps lock, or open Dua Lock from your Home Screen. Either takes you straight into the dua flow.
Why is the shortest reminder 15 minutes?
iOS enforces a fifteen-minute minimum on the scheduling API Dua Lock uses. Shorter cycles aren’t something we can offer.
I’m not getting notifications
Check Settings › Notifications › DuaLock and make sure Allow Notifications is on. Focus modes and Low Power Mode can also delay them.
Subscriptions
Dua Lock Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, billed through your Apple account. We never see or store your card details.
- Manage or cancel: iOS Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › Dua Lock Pro. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the current period ends.
- Free trial: cancel at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid being charged.
- New phone, or reinstalled the app? Tap Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Settings inside Dua Lock. Use the same Apple account you subscribed with.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
